What we do How we do it About us

Take a closer look at a few of our projects that helped clients drive growth, maximize productivity and delight customers around the globe.

Global Web Site Factory

Situation

One of our clients needed a way to manage its global web presence and maintain consistent branding and messaging around the world. The business requirements called for an efficient and effective solution that could be easily adopted by over 40 subsidiaries -- from large subsidiaries in Japan and Europe to smaller subsidiaries in Asia and Latin America.

Solution

Agile developed a virtual web site “factory” that leveraged the commercial content management system our client already had in place. We helped design and implement efficient web site templates, branding guidelines and process work flows. The virtual factory enabled the headquarters web team to build reference web sites and deploy them efficiently to subsidiaries around the world for localization and translation, including smaller subsidiaries with limited resources and technical expertise.

Results

Six years and several hundred web sites later, the virtual web site factory is still in full use. Corporate, marketing and customer service web sites have been deployed in over 20 languages across dozens of countries. All the web sites maintain consistent global branding and messaging while allowing subsidiaries to customize for local requirements. In addition, our client has documented several million dollars of savings through efficiencies enabled by the global web site factory.

Customer Service Web Site

Situation

An inter-divisional client team responsible for publishing a popular set of reference manuals engaged Agile to enhance the online versions of the manuals. Our client had been utilizing an outdated publishing process that was inefficient for both print and online publishing.

Solution

Agile first helped our client to modernize their publishing process, enabling single-source publishing across channels (e.g., print, web, mobile). We then applied our user-centered design methodology to create a simple and appealing interface that organizes, indexes and presents the large volume of information contained in the manuals. We also created many engaging features that capitalize on the interactive and multimedia properties of the web.

Results

The new online manuals, which are available in multiple languages for users around the world, are an extremely popular service with several million visitors each month. While the web site was designed to enhance customer relationships, it is also driving a large number of visits to other important web properties published by our client. On top of that, the site won a Webby Award, the top Internet award which the New York Times calls the “Oscars of the Internet."

Corporate Web Site Re-launch

Situation

Our client hired Agile to help re-launch their corporate web site. The re-launch objectives included creating a unified look-and-feel across all areas of the site, enhancing the user experience so visitors can quickly and easily find what they are looking for and growing the reputation of the company by providing trusted information and on-line services. Before beginning the re-launch, baseline metrics were established using an online visitor survey. Approximately 40% to 50% of randomized visitors who completed the survey said the corporate web site was fulfilling key objectives.

Solution

Agile collaborated with our client's business and IT teams to re-brand and re-design the corporate web site. We applied our user-centered design methodology to create a simple and unified user experience and an information architecture that enables key content to be accessed with just one or two clicks from the home page. Other important features of the new corporate web site include an internal site search that categorizes results for different user segments, a “fast-lane” publishing process for breaking news and a strong emphasis on accessibility.

Results

Following the re-launch of the site, the online visitor survey was repeated and all key metrics increased from 40% to 50% of visitors who said the web site was fulfilling key objectives to over 80%, with several metrics exceeding the 90% level. The metrics include ease of navigation, satisfaction with the user experience and having a more favorable impression of the company after visiting the web site. Three years later, all the metrics remain at consistently high levels. The web site has won numerous web and industry awards, received certification by the National Federation of the Blind and enjoys a dominant market share of visits.
