Lick of the Day 2.0: Learning Rebooted
In collaboration with TrueFire, we're launching Lick of the Day 2.0 with 20 new Lick Packs spanning 500 blues, rock, jazz, rockabilly and acoustic lick lessons. Each Lick Pack features 25 lick video lessons from one of TrueFire's skilled instructors, along with matching interactive tab/notation, text narrative and backing tracks. Lick Packs are presented in sets of two volumes per genre, where the second volume builds on the concepts and techniques that were presented in the first. Additional TrueFire Lick Packs are already in the pipeline for release in coming months.
Lick of the Day 2.0 also includes substantial new features, including backing tracks, full-screen tab/notation display, and support of Retina displays and the new 4" iPhone and iPod touch screens.

Lick of the Day 2.0 is a free download on the iTunes App Store, and free Licks are available within each Lick Pack so you can check out courses hands-on before you buy. We're also featuring a new TrueFire Lick here each week.
Lick Packs sell for $4.99 (US App Store pricing), but all Volume 1 Lick Packs are available for a limited time at just $2.99. Lick of the Day 2.0 requires iOS 6.0 or newer, and runs on any iOS 6 compatible iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.
Dual Instruction Modes
Lick of the Day supports dual instructional modes for an optimal learning experience. In instructor mode, the student follows the instructor on video, with synced tab/notation and a fretboard display showing the notes played. In practice mode, the student controls the tempo of interactive tablature playback and also has access to the backing track audio to practice what was shown in the video.

Lick of the Day is powered by the live tablature rendering engine from TabToolkit, winner of the Apple Design Award. Rather than displaying static tablature, Lick of the Day renders tablature dynamically, including realistic guitar audio and advanced features such as A/B looping and speed control.
