In this excerpt from a solo I played on 'Back Lounge' with DareDevil Squadron. I create a playful little repeated phrase on the IV chord before playing a fast pattern descent on the A blues scale over the I chord. Watch how I position shift to set myself up to play the second half of the lick. When you're moving at a fast tempo, you need to figure out where you're going to want to land before you start a phrase. It helps if you have time to work things out before you get into the studio.
