On the ride out of a pop tune you can get a lot of mileage out of a pull-off arpeggio like this one. By establishing a pattern that I can hang over all four chords in the sequence, I'm building excitement and adding continuity all at the same time. We're using pull-offs so the picking isn't that hard, but make sure you stay in time because the lick only works if it's super tight with the track. There's a bit of Tom Petty or Bryan Adams going on here.
