AmpKit works with most Mac-compatible USB digital audio interfaces that support guitar input. Before buying, we recommend that you confirm that the digital audio interface in question supports sandboxed Mac App Store apps like AmpKit Mac; some interfaces use outdated audio drivers that don't work with Mac App Store apps.
Since many Mac users also have iOS devices, interfaces that support both Mac and iOS can be an ideal solution. Peavey AmpKit LiNK HD provides Mac and iOS compatibility, along with a particularly rich set of features, at a competitive price.
Analog guitar interfaces, which can be connected through the Mac's 1/8" headset jack, may function but can be noisy and feedback-prone, and hence are not recommended for Mac use.
AmpKit LiNK HD is a pure digital guitar interface that connects to the 30-pin or Lightning port (using Apple's Lightning to 30-pin Adapter) on your iOS device. LiNK HD is compatible with all newer iOS devices including iPad, iPad 2, iPad (3rd generation), iPad (4th generation), iPad mini, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPod touch (4th and 5th generation). Features:
Agile used LiNK HD exclusively at NAMM 2013, with great results. Our NAMM audio setup: a preview version of AmpKit 1.6 with stereo support running on iPad 4, iPad mini, MacBook Air, and iMac, connected to AmpKit LiNK HD, then via LiNK HD's Line Out jack stereo into a 10-channel Peavey mixer, and finally on to a pair of 1200W Peavey Impulse 12D powered enclosures with amazing-sounding ribbon drivers. We had LiNK HD's AC power adapter connected, so the iPads stayed charged all through the long NAMM show days.

Most major music retailers carry AmpKit LiNK HD, so we recommend checking their websites. Or visit Peavey's AmpKit LiNK / LiNK HD page to find a dealer worldwide.
