Here's a unique way to take your pentatonic scale through a few positions while adding open strings to create a swampy blues lick. The key to an idea like this is to let the open strings and the fretted notes to ring into each other. That's where the real magic happens on these types of ideas. We're staying in E minor pentatonic here, and those open strings are what evoke that old Delta blues sound. Notice that we change which open strings we're using throughout!
